Whatever happened to the 50 inch longsocks?

a couple of months ago I said we had alot of 50 & 100 inch crazy long socks coming. Then I never brought it up again…
why? because they were quite a bit later than I was told they’d be, then they never actually showed up at all. What we got instead is alot of black, pink & white socks with the 40 inch labels that actually measure 45 inches from heel to top and over 50 from toe to top. I still don’t know why the 100 inch never showed up (we still have them in pink & red from last year). I wore a pair of these new white 45+ inch socks the last couple of days, they are acrylic rather than cotton this time around (check the comments for more about acrylic vs. cotton) they are still very comfy, in fact, I think they have more stretch to them than the cotton longsocks do, they reach all the way up my thighs and can easily be cuffed. I liked them best slouched down to just above my knees. These also have the nice ribbing around the arches that we all love, it helps keep the socks in place around your feet and has been known to provide a little massage for your feet while you walk.
If you’ve been waiting for the 50s I suggest getting these…
they’re nearly as long at a better price, $20, the same as the 40 inchers ~:)

Here is the question that I always ask, and Niqkita is problably getting tired of hearing…are they larger in the thigh? You mentioned they had more stretch, one con only hope for about 26″ or so…please have good news…please…lol…Thanks Niq!

so here’s one reason why i love cotton longsocks and wonder about acrylic… the cotton ones don’t leave me with angry, sweaty feet. are the acrylic as breathable?

oops, sorry, I could’ve edited the paragraph & links better, but, well, you know…

neat! i have to say that my acrylic striped otks wick sweat better than the cotton longsocks, but the purple longsocks that sock dreams used to have, which we all agreed to be itchy, were also horrible at keeping sweat away from my feet, and i thought that they were acrylic. maybe just bad yarn altogether! :)
