what I’ve been wearing with leg warmers these past two icy cold days…
hand dyed sweater socks with natural sweater leg warmers
yesterday morning I woke up in my lavender sweater socks and realized these would fit people with fairly large feet as they are almost too comfortably loose on mine.

Still wearing the sweater leg warmers from the walk the day before…
spending the last day of 2003 in my fav longsocks
my goal today was to build the new longsocks page, my plan is to arrange them so that the varying lengths & thicknesses make more sense. Did I accomplish this goal? no, but I did update alot of other important pages like shipping & frequently asked questions. Tonight I sat down to work again, this time I got caught up in updating the little known gallery pages (yes, I intentionally keep them tucked away, but they can be reached in two clicks from this page, go to foot links on the left), just little stuff, again, no new links were added I just fixed their format & alignment…
EG Smith no foot boot socks, quite possibley the best leg warmers ever!
You know whats really cozy? the EG Smith no foot boots over my soft pink 36 inchers
with or without the ribbed arches...
While I work on the longsocks pages here is a letter from a girl I helped select the perfect length and color, unfortunately it was one of my minor goofs (I’m now up to four for the month), I sent her a pair with the ribbed arch instead of the unribbed…

Well, I’d grown too attached to my pink socks to want to return them…yesterday I wore them with some tan mary janes (and a too short skirt, and a too long coat!) and decided that the foot ribbing didn’t look weird at all. I got a lot of looks and a few compliments — they’re very nice! I was also happy that I was as warm as I would be wearing pants. I wore them during the day without the sock garters, double cuffed, and they stayed up pretty well, but started to fall after a couple hours of shopping. Later at dinner I put the garters on, and they definitely helped. Perhaps next I’ll try the black or the white, since I liked the pink so much…unless I try out the gray or tan kilt socks. ::sigh:: I was wondering if you’d ever seen nylon leg “warmers.” I saw an ad for Fleurs clothing where the models were wearing these leg warmers that reminded me of your top stripes. They were definitely not slouchy, and looked really nice with high heels. Maybe I’ll scan you a picture? Anyway, thank you!

Xoxo,
Lxxxx

My thoughts exactly!!!
…and, I’m now on the lookout for those leg warmers

I couldn’t pick just one…
toesocks in winter

toesocks, legwarmers & a dog nose

soft toes, dreamy yet you can almost feel the chilly air

dog nose & toes

the rosey clouds reflecting in the water
I awoke to snow falling and a nice dusting on everything in sight. By afternoon the sunshine had melted most of it but the chilly air remained. Wearing my navy knee high toesocks since last night I added my natural sweater leg warmers and some winter walking attire and headed for the cliffs with my loyal (fixated) catahoula Jake. The air was crisp clear & cold, the setting sun had all the clouds tinged various shades of blush and through the trees to the left of us I could see the bright glow of a freshly snow covered Mt St Helens. Under my warm gloves I had on a pair of fingerless wool gloves, aka Foot Traffic arm warmers (the grey is gone til next fall but I’m ordering lots & lots of the pink, maybe I’ll dye some other colors). The only part of me that was cold on the walk home was my nose…
Maybe we should sell nose warmers?
Back in stock as of today are the black & white toesocks and the Ozone argyle “losange” knee highs in chocolate and now in prune & khaki too (the black is gone til next year). Out are the bordeaux tweed otk’s (also til next fall)…

Celebration Time!

We do!
matrimonial feet
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the holidays than marrying my best friend and long time partner. So in a simple ceremony performed by a lovely medicine woman in a beautiful old victorian house we became Mr & Mrs Natosi today!!! only my mom & my dear old step-dad were physically in attendance, though many more were with us in spirit.
And what socks did we were on this joyous occasion? He wore black bootsocks and I chose the boucle slipper socks because they went perfectly with my outfit, I cuffed their fuzziness over the tops of my cute button up granny boots. Now we have even more to celebrate every year during the holidays ~:)

Cozy toes to you and yours
longsocks are yummie in all lengths and colors
There is much work I could be focusing on this week (site updates and new items mostly), but due to the nature of business at this time of year our main focus has been on getting orders successfully processed and sent out as soon as possible. A few errors were made ~I’ve sent a couple of people the wrong color:( and the post office just isn’t delivering as quickly as usual. All in all I think the holidays went very well this year,
lots of warm toes will be had~:)
We will process and ship all orders that arrive by noon Thursday then we’re taking the rest of the day to relax and…
(((celebrate)))
chances are pretty good we won’t work Friday either…
last year we didn’t sell a single pair of socks on the 25th,
they say there is some big holiday that takes place then ~;)
Regardless of which holiday you celebrate this month, or even if you celebrate nothing at all in December, I wish you happy holly toes and sockloads of joy this week and every week!

Sometimes you feel like a nut…
who says you have to wear matching socks?
sometimes, in the dark, I’m happy just to find two socks of the same style in the sock box we keep in our room, but really, it adds a little fun to my day to look down and see mismatched socks ~:)
So, it’s Monday afternoon, all the orders that have come in so far are now on their way to their new homes, all the express orders could arrive as soon as tomorrow since we managed to get them out earlier than expected.
Yesterday I wore the same bootsock combo, I liked it so well that I chose their partners last night before bed and am still totally comfy in their mismatched bootsock glory…

Still serving me well…
longsocks and delicate argyle tights
this is my original pair of longsocks, nearly two years old now, worn & machine washed (and dried) many times and still in excellent shape! These were the first sock featured here as the socks of the day (scroll to the right til you get to July 4th).
Today I wore them over my delicate argyle tights with cut offs and a kilt and they actually stayed over my knees for many hours of activity, of course things tend to stay up a bit better over tights (things like socks & leg warmers that is).
Warmest toes to all and to all a goodnight…
Happy weekend!!!

the only pet rat I can keep, because he's rubber & doesn't make me wheeze
yes, I finally took pictures of the newest batch of 30 inch super loose socks which now have ribbing on the legs where the last batch (and black ones) do not. They’re not super loose as in, they’d fit extra large legs, no, it means they appear loose and baggie around your calves but have enough elastic in their tops to hold them securely on any part of my leg, above or below my knees. Also the socks are just big enough for my 8.5 – 9 sized feet. I wore them over my delicate argyle tights and thought it looked pretty smart with the green plaid skirt (which may not show up on darker monitors in which case you probably can’t see the rat either). Since I procrastinated over these shots for a month I thought it only fair to lower the price (just a tad, I still have to pay bills & buy even more socks for you to drool over…) for only $20 a pair of these could be yours and if you’re in the US you don’t even have to pay to have them shipped…
a little closer, the feet appear greyish because I'm wearing them over grey tights

Because I’m feeling more creative than productive…

at least I’m being creatively productive!
(sorry if it takes awhile to load)
who can guess which style of socks I’m wearing?

Fear not sock fans…
I’m editing a little shoot of a style that was long overdue for pictures (many thanks to Ben & Jackie for reminding me in such an irresistible way). I’ll get at least one of them up here in the next hours and will get their page updated before that. As Friday’s light fades away far fewer people are ordering their holiday socks online, which is giving me a much appreciated breather. I updated the shopping cart this morning with my guarantee that all orders received by 5pm (pacific time, it’s 4:07 here right now) will be shipped and reminding people to contact me immediately if they don’t get confirmation (this is much more effective than weeks after the order *should* have arrived). We’ve had a few letters about late deliveries, only one so far that seems to have gone missing. Again, the sooner you contact us the sooner we can confirm shipment and provide a tracking number (another thing I hope to add to the virtual check out system). Back to editing with me…

The new purple…
before washing and drying
The new 40 inch longsocks have started arriving from Cyprus.
They won’t be available til I figure out how to rework the longsock styles so they make more sense, there are sooo many variations right now and we’re out of alot of colors. These measure about 41 inches heel to top before washing. I washed mine in warm and threw them in the dryer with the rest of my laundry this morning to test for shrinkage, I’d say they lost about an inch which is okay by me. Also, although they are about 40 inches unstretched they were only a couple of inches longer than my 30 inch legs when I put them on (I think this is true of most socks). The next shot shows how they fit after shrinking…
just a tiny bit shorter
This is different from the previous purple longsocks we had…
previous purple on top, new purple on the bottom
So far they have arrived in black, purple, natural & red…
it is a true bright red
this is the same red they come in for the 36 inch and 100 inch as well, I’ll get those pages updated later, for now I’ve agreed to work a little fill in shift at the bookstore which should be fun, it will help remind me why I started my own business ~:)
