Great Halloween styles…

This picture of the Velvet thigh highs was first posted December 31, 2002.
We also have wonderfully soft & stretchy velvet opera gloves in both black & deep red on the velvet page.

Great Halloween Stockings…
perfect for a day (or night) at the graveyard...
this picture of the spider web thigh highs was first posted February 6.
(I still think Spider’s lace is a nicer name as they look so lacey)

notice the orange seamed toes
I decided that I really needed a picture (or several) of this color combination. It’s a screamingly bright orange and just like the rest of the thigh high stripes they’re really long & stretchy yet stay up perfectly on my short scrawny legs. I really think these would fit just about anyone.
Today we signed the lease that will allow our sock dreams to continue to grow. It’s going to be a busy few weeks while we move so I’m going to take a semi vacation from the journal. Rather than not post at all I’m going to feature some of my favorite past pictures starting with great Halloween styles. I will continue to keep the site updated and we plan to keep filling sock orders with little or no interruption.
Aha, stripes images look better as gifs than jpgs!

Good Halloween socks…

Maybe not for an actual costume, but they are awful cute with their little skulls & pink stripes, they stay up super well and are comfy besides. Other great Halloween styles are the orange sweater socks & leg warmers and the black & orange striped thigh highs. Just thought I’d mention those because I’ve been asked about orange socks a couple of time this past week. If I was as on top of things as I’d like to be I’d have it set up so I could feature certain styles at certain times, although, in a way, I do that here. We ran out of grey kilt socks this week, still have plenty of ivory & tan and will have more grey in about a week. Will run out of the long wool socks soon, I tried to reorder them today but the supplier is out too so they may be a month or more. Next month we will have sooo much more space to work in that we will be better organized, better stocked & even more productive….
I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

before bed last night I replaced the healing radionics with what may be our most boring sock. These cotton anklets are made by EG Smith, so you’d think they’d be the same wonderful quality as they’re other styles, but they’re not. They’ve softened up nicely over the years (they were one of the original styles 3 years ago) but they slip down my heels badly in shoes and they don’t come in near as many pretty colors as the bootsocks so I don’t currently have plans to reorder if we ever run out of the stock on hand. The cable kit leg warmers were comfortable with sock garters for two days in a row, I think I’ll take them off now though…

Ozone Healing radionics now availale on the long awaited midcalves page...
I’m wearing the denim cable leg warmers with a pair of sock garters holding them up because they don’t stay up by themselves, at least not up above my knees. Under that I have on the fun to look at Ozone Healing Radionics which I brought in a couple of months ago to fill a special order and just now got listed on a page, the brand new midcalves page. Speaking of sock garters
I just updated the sock garter page because the black elastic is back, I didn’t order as much as I wish I had and only have enough for the basic colors plus a couple (pink & yellow & maybe another…). I raised the prices $1 each, white are now $6 & black are $8, they seem simple but alot of work goes into them and we don’t have an endless supply yet. One last thing, we sold half the chambray bootsocks today!!!

I’m lusting after the new boot socks we got this week…
Chambray blue, soft dreamy light blue, like baby blue or powder blue, but better
and Burgundy red, deep rich dark red, stunning, luscious…
but I won’t let myself have either of them, not yet, maybe when we get more. I only brought in 6 pairs each to make sure I liked the colors, and I do, I love them, but will settle for my plain old red pair for now (seen here beside my new fuchsia bush in our new yard!!!).
I’ve cleaned most of the “extra” images off the bootsocks page and am working on an expanded image page that will have them plus lots of other pictures that I’ve taken of our bootsocks in the past couple of years, many that have never been on the site before. If I’m not too distracted by packing & getting ready for our move I’ll get it done this week, as well as the main socks page which is soooo overdue for an update & the newest items page which is just slightly overdue. Have I mentioned how busy I’ve been lately? yeah, just a little…
Now, go buy yourselves some new bootsocks!

nice knee highs, great slouch socks…
these are kind of a sleeper of an item, really nice to look at & wear but they must look boring in pictures because they rarely get ordered. Maybe I should lower their price? yes, that’s it, they are no longer $8 a pair, they are now only $6! I didn’t realize I had one on inside out til I took this picture, too late to fix it now~:)
Last night I mentioned a script error with the drop down purchase menus, this morning I got all the pages fixed, several of them could still use some updating to get them looking as nice as the knee high, leg warmers & stripes look, but the *should* work, they do for me, but do they for you? someone wrote awhile ago still having trouble, but I think she is on AOL so that could explain it. Another gripe someone had recently was that the text is too dark, I think it’s perfect but I’m willing to compromise if others find it difficult to read. That same person said the options at the bottom of the shopping cart were confusing so I switched “pick out some more” to “keep shopping”, “start over” is now “empty cart” and “pay now” is “payment options”…
Feedback, I’d LOVE some feedback on these issues….

I wore my original pair of longsocks most of this weekend.
They are in wonderful shape after more than a year of wearing, washing & wearing some more and are still one of my very favorite pairs.
You probably know that we have these custom made in several lengths from these at about 20 inches (including a thicker version), 36 inches, 50 inches & 100 inches, we even had them at a whopping 215 inches once (yes, they are all gone now & not likely to be back). Since the 36 & 50 inch are our most popular and the hardest to keep in stock I recently requested a variation, 40 inches from heel to cuff, with no ribbing at the arch so they will look nicer with shoes that show off the tops of the feet. They’ll still have the vertical ribbing that most of us love. Since some people have requested a non-ribbed version we’ll work on those next…
I’m still hoping to add a longer version of the sweater socks by winter as well, but to date we’ve not received the long promised samples.
In other sock news I’m working to correct a java script error that was preventing people from ordering from us using Macintosh systems. It may take me days to get all the pages fixed, but the most popular pages should work now. Many thanks to the people who took the time to write to me about this!!!

you can wear them just above the knees too…
pretty new square pink buttons peaking out of flesh colored fishnets
I finished 36 pairs of sock garters this morning, all with white elastic as I’m still out of black (it is due to arrive Wednesday & hopefully will show up early~:) When I get the black done next week I’ll rearrange the page and set it up like the stripes page where you click the image of the item you want instead of using the drop down menu (which I hear doesn’t work as well with macs as they do on windows).
When I was playing with different ways to wear the stockings with the garters I discovered that you can slip the buttons through the fishnet to show them off, when it’s time to remove them the fishnet slips right back off…
