it worked! I layered three socks, 36 inch grey longsocks, red bootsocks and black bootsocks and put on my best buddie’s boots. Then I climbed a tree, baked brownies and helped make chili pizza (try it, it’s good!). They don’t fit perfectly but I can sure walk around comfortably.

Here’s something that made me smile yesterday…
just an ordinary fan letter
Hi Niqkita,
This is just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your website. It’s beautiful! And it works. I love everything I’ve bought from you. Frankly, I’m turning into much more of a sock person than I ever was, as a result of you. I’ve been directing everyone who asks about my sexy mesh socks to fetishize-me.
Keep up the inspired work!
Phoebe

New purple 36 inch longsocks !!!
I have them cuffed under today, with my favourite boots.
See those other boots?
I lust after them, but they’re not my size
with them today are the royal blue bootsocks
I think they look delicious together.

Longsocks were our first custom made private labeled style
(introduced just about a year ago)
Then someone said “they are nearly perfect, if they were a little longer & thicker
and another said “36 inches would be ideal…
still others thought 50 or even 100 inches would be a dream come true…
what the hell I said, make some 200 inches! (6 pairs, they’ll be here in May)…. actually they showed up in August
This year we have added some colors
(tomorrow I’ll be showing off my newest, purple!!!)
So how are they different than that pair I wore yesterday?
see the ribbing around the feet? that helps keep them in place.
they stay about knee high with ease (with sock garters on they stay above my knees)
the vertical ribbing is different (not better or worse, just different)
they are a bit snugger at the tops
these cost me less so they will cost you less
yesterday’s are made in the US
these are made in Cyprus (that’s in southeast Europe)

when I took my fishnets off last night I scanned the room for a comfy pair to put on for lounging about. This pair caught my eye…
I only ordered the legwarmers from this supplier last week because I have to keep the new items down til I find a bigger place to house the growing sock empire and I wasn’t sure these met our needs. Now I’m having second thoughts…
what I like:
they are much looser (like the bootsocks, but not as thick)
nice ribbing
soft & comfy
l-o-n-g
what I don’t like:
they will never stay up on their own (they make great slouch socks)
even the feet don’t stay in place (they do with shoes)
they are a tad expensive (high end, high quality, good value)
I’ve been wearing them with my sock garters, last night I had them above my knees, today I have them just below my knees with the excess folded over in a nice thick cuff. I think we’ll get these after all, though I still plan to wait til we have more space…

my sister, who gave me these shoes, asked that I wear them with fishnets…
well, it’s been a few weeks and I haven’t had the urge to wear fishnets till today…
Today I’m wearing sparkly fishnets, they look terrific in person because they literally sparkle, so a photo only catches them for an instant and you just don’t get the same effect. They do not have a backseam so there’s nothing to get perfectly straight when you put them on and they stay up really well (up, nearly all the way up my thighs).
I’ve worn them over solid stockings in contrasting colors in the past & that really made the sparkles stand out, as you can see they look great over bare skin too.
Happy tree planting Star!!!

In the center is the pair I’m wearing now,
the pair that made me rethink my opinions about toesocks (I have a pink pair too).
The four outer pairs are from the new suppliers site (they have some even better shots but I don’t want to step on any toes in the copyright infringement department, pardon the pun). It’s not the same supplier I got my pair from but they appear to be the highest quality toe socks out there. I’ve ordered 12 colors of midcalves (that’s only half of the colors they offer! I had a hard time narrowing it down), the knee highs are only available in navy right now so that’s all I could get and the anklets come in white, black & navy so I went with a dozen of each.
Soon everyone will love toesocks…

no picture for Thursday!?!
no, I’m afraid not. I wore my new fuzzy black socks all day with continued satisfaction, they stayed in place and were comfy with & without shoes til I tossed them in the laundry basket last night (okay, I did have to pull a heel back up once).
To machine wash or hand wash is always the question when I go to wash my socks, of course I prefer to throw everything in the washer and hope for the best but I’ve learned over & again that doesn’t always work out well. I’ll at least put these in a garment bag if I don’t hand wash them.
Right now I’m wearing a pair of blue toe socks I don’t sell, I love them so much that I kept up my search for a worthy supplier. The first toesocks we got in have been warmly recieved, there are some nice color combinations and soft fuzzy ones. Now I have found a line that specializes in toesocks and has some fabulous colors…
elephant, kangaroo, mudbath, pond, meteorite…
there are more, and I have ordered them, nearly, am awaiting confirmation and really, am up far too early. Perhaps a nap & some coffee then I’ll post some great pix I have of the new toe socks…

YES YES YES!!!
I just got off the phone with Sam, he’s the very nice man in North Carolina who sent me the samples I’ve been wearing this past week…
He let me break the order up into amounts we can handle.
I’ve requested a dozen of each of the 5 colors the legwarmers are available in (White, Off White, Natural, Navy & Black), so I’m still getting the 5 dozen just not all in one color. They don’t do that stitch in a sock so I just went for the leg warmers this time. He said they’ll get to dying the yarn today and the order should be ready in about 2 weeks!

106053541680225651

now, about those yummie leg warmers & long socks…
they have a minimum ordering requirement of 5 dozen per color!!! that’s going to be quite the investment just to get started with so I will stick with one or two colors. I keep missing the guy I need to talk to about more options but between emails & talking to his assistant today I just may be able to get it all together tomorrow…

Mmmmm, these are the softest socks yet!
they are fully fuzzy inside & out so your feet can enjoy them as much as your hands will, and you can fold them over as many times as you want, they will still have a fuzzy cuff. And to think, I wasn’t going to let myself keep a pair…
they’re sure to become a favorite, especially at bedtime.
I wonder if I could convince the supplier to get some that are nice and long, if not we can just combine them with the fuzzy legwarmers
Now to update the fuzzy socks page while watching Extreme Engineering (my current fav show).
