Saturday's sock sales were slow like a summer day
so we took a nice long walk...

and kept our shoes on
(((my toes were perfectly comfortable in
toesocks)))
just my fav old par of
pink 36 inch longsocks...

with a pair of the
sock garters I made with the buttons I got on Wednesday. I made the rest with pink thread & liked it better but I haven't added this batch yet and might not til we sell the last couple of pairs of the current mother of pearl buttons (which only have two holes). I need to at least take better pictures of these before I add them, they're really pretty when light hits them.
This evening I'm wearing the
rainbow toed over the knee toe socks again (I washed them last night)...
Happy weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
Customer appreciation and then some!

Hi Niq and Bsti~
My order arrived, everything looks great! I had to try them on right away, of course. Despite the fact that it's 90 and ~~~~humid~~~~ here in NE.
Can't wait for Fall for the OTKs.
My daughter called for me, and I left my pile of new socks on my bed to get her lunch.
Then, in the backyard, I saw our newly adopted puppy playing with something.....something with orange stripes.....she is so naughty.
Or her 'mom' is sorta dense. Photo attached.
The sock survived, all is well. ;) Thank you!I love that! had to share, but I always ask permission first...
Of course you can use it! Her name is Willow. One of my dear friends is a vet tech, and all of our pets have been rescues thru her. Willow was brought into her clinic to be put down because she had 'kennel cough'. My friend saved her, and nursed her through 4 months of antibiotics and many near-death nights. Obviously she's doing fine now. She is my first dog, after 13 years with the same 4 cats. I am her human; and I'm quite taken with her.that makes my toes very warm & fuzzy!!!

I went to my favorite fabric store for
buttons today...
this creek runs behind it and though I've featured it here before I couldn't resist showing it again (and may again & again in time...).
I really like these toe socks because they look like a simple black over the knee, but your toes are brightly colored and like the rest of the
Feelmax over the knee toesocks these stay up perfectly!
Men's socks?yes, he likes them too...

he says they are perfect for men because they are simple, comfortable and even make great dress socks.
We were trying them on last night and noticed an odd thing, the mediums went on easier than the large, yet the feet on the large are bigger than the feet on the mediums, so if you get a pair from us and they don't fit right we'll happily exchange them (it's just the cuffs that are snug on the larges). This is what we found for our fit, I wear a woman's 8.5 and the small (sized at the standard 9-11) fit me perfect, he wears a men's size 9.5 and the mediums (sized to fit 10-13) fit him perfect. We think they are equally nice scrunched down around his boots as they were pulled up as knee highs for a naughty school girl look, they're potential is limitless. So why is the version they are making for us better than the version they make for the military? because you don't have to enlist to wear ours ~;)
Authentic Military Boot socksmade just a little better, just for us...

I've worn these several times & am really pleased with them.
They are a simple style that simply fits and stays up.
The fit comes in four sizes, that's right, FOUR SIZES!!!
Here is a letter directly from the supplier:
The sizes run as follows:
Small 9-11
Medium 10-13
Large 11-14
X-Large 12-15
Thw content is approx 80% cotton, 15% nylon, 5% elastic.
These are exactly the same as the ones we have been making for the military for years. The only differences ar that these are cotton instead of a wool/cotton blend and we used black cotton instead of natural yarn that is dyed later. These are made here in the USA
by the same wondeful folks that make the rest of our M styles.
Available to buy from us on the
knee high page.
I'm having a wonderful & so far lazy holiday Monday today...
though I do plan to put on some socks and get to work shortly
(I have some wonderful simple knee highs to show you later).
First I wanted to share this letter I got this morning:
Subject: Your most wonderful world of socks.
Hello Niqkita
I am so glad that I have stumbled upon your amazing and wonderful site!
I have had a love of good and fun socks ever since my mother put me in them, your site opens up a whole new world of exciting 'sock happiness' in such a conveniant and accesable format!
At the moment it is after 2.30 am here in Tasmania (Little cold island south of Australia) so I'm not awake enough to make any orders...
that can wait until I've browsed your site fully and pondered over every lovely possibility, sometime in daylight hours.
I just wanted to congratulate you for providing such a wonderful shop.
Perfect for girls who live on cold little islands!
Thankyou!
LisaI was just sitting here drinking coffee when that came in and I had tears in my eyes by the end of it, happy tears, tears of joy that someone living somewhere so exotic & faraway is no more than an email away and will soon have warmer toes because of us!
yes, we warm toes far away often but I still get extra happy everytime I get a wonderful letter like that ~:)
From the Socks of the Day to the Sock Journal
started July 4, 2002...

That's one of the images I didn't use for that first socks of the day entry. I started this as soon as I got my digital camera and it proved to be an excellent exercise to take pictures of my socks each and every day and find something to say to everyone about them.
I still love my
longsocks, even after a couple more years of wear.
Back then I didn't use a journaling tool & had to manually move the images daily & archive them weekly. A little over a year ago I switched to
Live Journal in a frame on this page, but I didn't like their comment format or some of the publishing delays so I switched to
Blogger which I'm fairly happy with though I sometimes wish I had the slightest clue how to do
Movable Type, I've seen some fantastic photo journals that use it.
The end of this month marks four years online....
with August being the official anniversary month.
How shall we celebrate?
I'll Dream something up...
