Lavender leg warmers at sunset .jpg)
Last week in my haste I threw my lavender batch in with my royal blue batch for their final rinse... I thought this was safe as every load I've done this past month had an old white tee shirt in the final rinse & each and every one came out clean. Not this time, no, the blue was really powerful & left just a hint of itself on the outsides of every pair in that load. Happily it rinsed out when I rewashed the lavenders separately and everything looks lovely again. I'm adding them to the
leg warmer page tonight. I should only be adding stuff to the new (unreleased) version of the site, but I'm having trouble letting go of my old design (not to mention that I am just sooo much more comfortable working with NetObjects than Dreamweaver). The result is that I'm currently juggling three site designs & this one isn't as up to date as I usually keep it, the archives for this page aren't working either, not sure why. But soon I do hope to have it all straightened out. I appreciate everyone's patience in the meantime, I am mentally swamped right now and (as usual) trying to do way too many things in preparation for the busy season ahead of us.
P.S. you did know yesterdays image led to a little gallery of images of that style right?
Long sock madness
They only made six pairs & surely thought us mad for such a request...
we started around 20 inches, went to 36, then 50 & 100, could we get 200 inch socks?
they are the same paneled rib knit as the shorter
longsocksbut wait, they aren't 200 inches, they are
215, that's just under 18 feet!!!
I really could move around in them too, though I got really warm fast
I think they made my legs look like dolly legs, rag dollies maybe.
These were not easy for the knitters to make so I promised not to order more...
two went to early "bidders", we are keeping a pair for the eventual sock museum
three pairs remain...
Shades of grey

I just realized that I don't have so much as a mention of these on the
anklets page. They have their own page, the
tweed page, because last fall we had some yummie tweed otk's and I still had the luxury of giving each style it's very own page, a concept I'd nearly given up on by spring. When the otk's were no longer available I gave in & got these anklets but never thought to put them with the other anklets, silly silly me! They are a high quality style that isn't as stuffy as it might sound (when I hear "tweed" I think of old British men for some reason) and they actually stay up, I did alot of moving around this afternoon & never once had to pull them up.
See my foot charm? I just got it today from a fellow sock enthusiest extraordinaire...
An extra special Thank you goes out to the Amazonian Goddess!!!
The long hot daze of summer remember this shot?

it's from the first week I did the socks of the day in
July 2002.
so much has changed since that week...
I was still working fulltime so I had to go be in the public eye alot more than I do now, as a result I got alot more feedback on what I was wearing than I do most days now. My entries were still nice & short then, I was just getting used to writing everyday, wasn't even sure what to write alot of days, I guess I'm still not, I'll have random thoughts throughout the day that I want to share, then, just like anything else I'll sit down & not remember just what they were. We've gotten alot busier since that month last summer, I no longer do all the packaging & shipping, for awhile I wasn't pulling the orders either, but it was harder for me to gauge sales & order properly without actually handling them myself. I used to beable to actively wear most of the styles we carried, we have far too many now, it would take nearly three months just to wear one color of each style!
As this week & month closes we are approaching this sites three year anniversary...
Happy birthday to Me!!!
Accidental anklets

When I ordered these I was trying to get the ones on the right of the
lace anklets page.
I ended up with something like the ones on the left, but not quite the same.
Too make matters worse, the ruffle came right off the first one I tried on...
I checked a few more & they were all fine, but I've decided to use these as testers to find out what it takes to dye lace evenly. We got lots of socks yesterday & today & I expect we'll have more before the end of the week. Tomorrow I'll be getting them all added to the sites for all to see...
Well, I don't know what is up with LiveJournal, it just doesn't seem to be working right today so I switched to one of my blog templates, the font looks too small on this one, but otherwise it should work far better than LJ. While I'm here I may as well tell you that I misread the suppliers' letter last week, he didn't say 20 dozen, he said 200 dozen!!! and I was already trying to figure out where we'd put the 20, ugh, this complicates things terribly!
The new coffee stripes...

There's nothing like some good strong coffee to start your week off.
Actually, they look a little more gold than coffee to us, I add more cream to my coffee than they do I guess.
These are from the same supplier as the burgandy/black & red/pink stripes, all three are thigh high with nice stretchability. Yesterday my sweetie wanted a pair of these so badly that he was willing to pay for them (socks don't grow on trees you know). So here you have them, on men's legs, looking sexy & going nicely with lots of his clothes. (Of course I think they'd look fabulous on women's legs too!). Next time I order from this supplier I'll bring in the rest of the colors in this line, 11 total! they have other stripes we'll try too. I'm getting a pretty even mix of length requests for the sweater socks, I might just have to start with 40 inches & work up to 50, we should have a fresh batch of 50s & 100s (the 200 inch will be in there too) from Alpal coming anyway (my toes are crossed that they will be here any day now)...
Sock Dreams & Indigo Shadows

I made this to go with the now extinct E.G. Smith
longstockings way back when I was first building the site 3 years ago. I didn't yet know to save images with text as gifs instead of jpgs so the text looks fuzzy. I've continued to use the sock dreams idea, especially in the past year as we've been bringing in the fun custom socks, but it never occured to me that it was the perfect name for the business, perhaps it was too obvious? it suddenly hit me a few days ago that I really wished I'd've thought of it sooner, maybe in the beginning or at least before I bought up a third page ad in a national magazine that will appear in their fall issue due out shortly. Don't get me wrong, I love the name Fetishize Me, it's different & catchy, but it's ambiguous & a mouthful, some days when people ask me what my website is I don't feel like standing up to such a big provocative name. Then last night it hit me, shockingly hard I might add, of course I can still use that name, in fact it's perfect timing because I just renewed my registration for Fetishize-me.com, fetishizeme.com & fetishize-me.net last month so they will not be going away anytime soon. In the meantime I am getting sock-dreams.com & it's varations set up on a different server with the same host, it will mirror the main site, just under a fabulous new name!
Aside from that, I've decided that I want Sundays to be my official dyeing day. I did more of the lavender cotton leg warmers, they came out really nicely, and a half dozen cotton socks in what looks to me like twilight... deep dark royal blue cuffes fading into lavender blue feet, lovely! and worthy of the indigo Shadows label they will soon carry.
